During the first hour at church my kids normally like to draw but occasionally they are busy doing something else and I get time to sketch a few things, yesterday was one of those days. I branched out a little on this drawing with how I normally design things but this one turned out pretty awesome. Sometimes freestyle doodles can look pretty amazing, no thinking, just drawing!
An online portfolio of my latest works. All pictures are my work unless otherwise stated and as always everything is COPYRIGHTED to me.

17 years in the making
I started this idea back when I was 17, that was 17 years ago. So hard to believe that I never could finish this but I managed to redraw it and finish it once and for all. There is a story behind this but I am not going to tell you, it is all up to you to decide for yourself what it all means. I purposefully left in the elements that were not perfect just to show myself that even imperfect parts in art can still make a strong piece. I have hid this one for myself until recently. I am already working on a sister drawing for this one that will face the other way to compliment it. Now to get back to commissioned drawings.

Sculpture!
Hands are done and more of the rocks in the background. This is the tedious part but I am so close to finishing that I am getting anxious for the end.
Here is a Wall-e pinata I am making for my son's birthday. I love sculpture so this is the perfect excuse for me to do it again. It will be hard to see it smashed this weekend.

Sunflower sunrise
Sunflowers always make me happy, how could you not feel joy when looking at such a bright and wonderful flower! The bottom one is cropped to mimic the sunrise. Enjoy!

Name change ideas!
I am getting tired of the name of this blog, I have been thinking about changing it to Caroline Can Draw like I did the web address. Thoughts? Any other suggestions? It can be excruciating to think of things for promoting myself as an artist. I can for my husband and do quite easily, but for myself, that is a totally different story. I don't want others to know me other than what I produce as an artist. I am trying to break out of that here with asking for help. So please, comment with your ideas.

All three shells together.
Final three shells. Bottom one I surprised myself in drawing it in one night. I did darken the top one and added more salt to the background to the second one.
I liked this more than I had expected I am thinking about doing more for myself since my family and I love the beach.
Close up of the third shell.

Shell #2
Shell number 2 completed. Top is how it is intended to be displayed, bottom is the angle from which I did draw it. Funny how things change like that once you complete a piece.
